Coming Alive in Africa
“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs.
Ask yourself what makes you come alive,
and then go and do that.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”
This quote from Harold Whitman jumped off the page as I sat in my little home away from home in Riviersonderend, South Africa. I am staying in a sweet space that is being created by my dear friends John and Joan. Some of you will have met them as they have visited TLC bringing over South African teens over the years. It provides my safe home as I venture out into the community to discover what this little town has in store to teach me this year. What I know for sure is that my heart opens and my creativity flows every time I am here.
Here too we discover models of what we want to bring to you at TLC. Places that embody the excitement of what the Creation Station is becoming. People who work with their hands and whatever nature provides around them to create delightful crafts. Groups who inspire the deepest spiritual exploration and light up your soul. And voices of the ancestors who walked this land, likely among the the very first humans to inhabit our planet.
I want to grab that essence and carry it home to you. These models are what we want to provide to all who visit TLC. I want to live among people who are coming alive more and more everyday.
I invite you to discover today, what makes you come alive and do that,
Robin
